LIFE on the EDGE
In Luke chapter 24 Jesus gave a Bible Study to two of His disciples. What was the response of those two disciples? And what method did Jesus use to give that study? After learning Jesus method, you will want to use it. LIFE on the EDGE is patterned after Jesus’ method of sharing Truth with His disciples and followers. The disciples response to Jesus’ Bible study is found in Luke 24:32 “Did not our heart burn within us..while he opened to us the scriptures?” The question begs to be asked, “What did Jesus do to get this type of response?” “How did He open the scriptures to them?”
Jesus gave the method of His Bible studies in Luke 24:27 “And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.” Jesus gave those two disciples a Bible study about Himself. A Bible study in which He used all of the scriptures (Old Testament in this case) to teach about one topic, Himself!
This is Jesus method of teaching the Bible to others to study the Bible in topics. Jesus used the same method when He addressed those gathered that same evening in Jerusalem. Notice how the Bible records this in Luke 24:44, 45, “And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures.”
